  1. Me thinks you two are going to be more in demand as the NE digs out. I see some trips up north for you two come spring! Keep up the good work!

  2. I am 1st year med student (M.D. program). How do you guys suggest I prepare for an economic collapse alongside the regular medical curriculum? Where should I start in my learning?

    • Hi Dax,

I would get as much training in trauma as you possibly can, as well as getting a lot of knowledge regarding 3rd world infectious disease. You will get some training in these common survival medical issues in your normal curriculum, but nowhere near enough. Think about what you would do in a particular medical situation with limited supplies and no ability to transfer to a modern facility. This is a good start…

        • Do you have any disaster med texts you can recommend that are for physicians/medical students? I find a lot of the other material is written for the lay person and a little more simplistic for my taste. I am planning on purchasing your book, however.

          • Most of the military services have detailed survival manuals that include detailed information for corpsmen. No book specifically meant only for physicians has become very popular, simply because it assumes the existence of modern medical facilities, something that would be accessible in a long-term survival situation…
