About Dr Bones

Joseph Alton, M.D. is a medical doctor and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He writes about medical preparedness for times of trouble, and is, along with his wife Amy Alton, a nurse-midwife, the co-author of The Doom and Bloom(tm) Survival Medicine Handbook, and well as a contributor to Survivalist, Backwoods Home, and other magazines related to survival and homesteading. Together they host the Doom and Bloom(tm) Hour radio show on the Preparedness Radio Network, as Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy. Dr. and Ms. Alton use pseudonyms so that they can be free to give medical strategies for collapse situations that sometimes are contrary to the conventional medical wisdom.

    My wife and I both have been RN’s for over 30 years. We’ve been preppers for almost 15. This book is the very best medical book on survival medicine we have ever read. Thanks Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy for writing it.

    As a Remote Area Paramedic I have worked in lots of places around the world, from hostile zones to maritime zones, jungles, deserts, the Artic and ordinary urban area’s I have had to follow a lot different protocols all varying and dependent on medical direction which sometimes missed where I actually was located…. so you know I have a collection of med books, some great some absolutely garbage, this book is by far the most practical, common sense approach and advice a non medical practitioner and practitioner alike can use, well written, well explained, easy to follow book and straight to the point. If you take prepping seriously get this book..
