It’s Christmas time, and there are a lot of people feeling the financial pain this holiday season. I usually don’t ask for anything this time of year, but I DO have a holiday wish this year: I’d like you to take a few of those cans of food you’ve been storing and donate them to your local food bank or homeless shelter. They’ll be glad to have it, and you’ll be glad you gave it. You rotate those cans out anyway, and you’ll get a boatload of karma points on top of it all!
Giving to Charity and TEOTWAWKI
You’ve got gifts for your family, but what about your other family? That’s right, the Family of Man. If you have a spare buck or two, give to the charity of your choice. People who are experiencing their personal TEOTWAWKI this holiday season need your Christian charity, or your Buddhist charity, or whatever charity pertains to you. The preparedness community is meant to be a force for good; be an ambassador of hope to those who have been hit hard by a weak economy.
Wounded Warrior Project
We’ve become monthly donors to the Wounded Warrior Project, and what a great way to tell the brave men and women of our armed services that you care about the sacrifices they’ve made. Go to wounded warrior project.org. and either sign up or make a small one-time donation. It doesn’t have to be that particular group, however. There must be an organization, church or foundation that you believe in that provides support to those in need. Send them a few bucks to help them continue to help others.
Nurse Amy and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy, and successful New Year!
