Oh Boy, Osama Bin Laden is Dead, Now I Can Stop Prepping!

Osama Bin Laden, dead at last!

Preparedness and Geopolitical Ramificatons

Hey Prepper Nation,

By now everyone has heard the news about Osama Bin Laden’s death, and people who were thinking of getting their preps started are breathing a sigh of relief and saying “Oh boy, now I can sell the pickup truck and get me a sports car!”.  Well, before you plow over the tomato patch and plant begonias, think about the ramifications of  Mr. Bin Laden’s demise with regards to our situation and where preparedness is concerned.

Al-Qaeda is now being led by Osama’s second-in-command, a muslim physician who first met him while treating his diabetes during the Soviet-Afghanistan conflict in the 1980s.   Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri lost his wife and 2 children in a raid by U.S./Nato forces some years ago, and is said to be more ferocious in his dislike for America that just about anyone.  He’s the man who said in a video that Barack Obama was nothing more than a “House Negro” and that we should  ” be aware that the dogs of Afghanistan have found the flesh of your soldiers to be delicious, so send thousands after thousands to them”.

Something tells me that Dr. al-Zawahiri has plans for the West, and anyone who thinks that we should relax our efforts to be prepared for the future is sadly mistaken.  We should be ever vigilant in protecting our world from those who would do us harm.  Part of that is staying the Prepper course.  Remember that terrorism is just one of the scenarios that could send things into a downward spiral, and your food storage, medical supplies and everything else you’ve put together is your insurance against times of trouble. This is not the time to be complacent. Stay positive but be proactive!

As an aside, the Muslim Brotherhood, now a powerful part of the Egyptian political landscape (that we helped by telling Mr. Mubarak to step down), has denounced the military action that caused Osama Bin Laden’s death.
