Traumatic injuries occur in the tens of millions every year. These don’t always (hardly ever, as a matter of fact) occur right outside of a hospital. You may need to evaluate a wound, stop bleeding, and possibly care for the injury until it heals, depending on the type of wound and availability of modern medicine. The family medic in long-term survival scenarios will have it even worse and must know how wounds heal and the types of wounds they’ll encounter.

In this video, Dr. Alton describes the different types of wounds and the process of healing. Future videos will detail wound care procedures for off-grid settings.
